BKL-12: 10 DAYS EXPLORE KENYA ADVENTURE
SAFARIS
Day 1:
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by
our airport staff and transferred to the Nairobi Safari Club. The day
is yours to relax, allowing your mind and body time to adjust to a different
time zone. In the evening, our driver will pick you up and take you to
the Carnivore Restaurant, well known for it's meat delicacies. After dinner,
you'll be dropped at the Hotel
Day 2:
Morning drive to Amboseli National Park. This park is famous for its elephants
and views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain. We arrive at
the lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and Overnight
at the Lodge.
Day 3:
We have a full day of game viewing with Kilimanjaro dominating the landscape
and providing a superb backdrop for our photographs. We watch for elephant,
zebra, wildebeest and cheetah. We may see two giraffes "necking"
or perhaps a lion on a kill. This is Maasai country and you will see these
proud people herding their goats and cattle. All meals and overnight at
the Amboseli Lodge.
Day 4:
After breakfast, drive north through coffee and tea plantations to Aberdare.
On arrival, we enjoy a buffet lunch at the Outspan Hotel before continuing
onto our safari lodge, The Ark. Throughout the night, elephant, rhino,
buffalo, and other game come to the water hole. They come so close you
can actually hear them breathe. Tea, dinner and overnight at The Ark.
Day 5:
Transfer to Outspan Hotel for breakfast and drive north into the semi-desert
bush country of northern Kenya. Here you will meet the nomadic tribes
of Samburu, Borana, and Turkana who have lived in this land blessed with
rich colors and a variety of landscapes. Lunch at the Sarova Shaba Lodge.
Afternoon game viewing drive. Dinner and overnight at Lodge.
Day 6:
Spend one more day at your lodge with both morning and afternoon game
viewing drives. There will be the reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra,
warthog, gerenuk, oryx, and if you are lucky, a leopard. In the evening
there is the opportunity to hear a talk about the one of the tribes, the
Samburu, followed by traditional African dances. After the performance
you will have an opportunity to photograph these colorful people. Overnight
at Lodge.
Day 7:
Breakfast at the lodge. Morning drive via Nyahururu Falls down to the
floor of the Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park. Home to over a
million flamingoes, the alkaline Lake Nakuru is a wonderful place to photograph
these colorful birds. There is also a rhino sanctuary, and in recent years,
Lake Nakuru National Park has been an excellent place to spot leopard.
Overnight at Lodge.
Day 8:
Breakfast at the lodge. Morning drive to Maasai Mara Game Reserve. During
your two days, you have the opportunity to explore this great reserve
in depth. You will see elephant, giraffe, prides of lion, and thousands
of impala, topi, Grant's and Thomson's gazelle.All meals and overnight
at the Lodge.
Day 9:
The Mara is the scene of annual migration of millions of wildebeest up
from the Serengeti plains in search of water and grasses. While in Mara,
you will have the option to float above the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem on
board a hot air balloon followed by a gourmet champagne breakfast. You
also get to visit a Maasai tribal village and enjoy entertainment by Maasai
dancers. All meals and overnight at the Lodge.
Day 10:
After breakfast at the lodge, bid farewell to Maasai Mara game reserve
and drive back to Nairobi arriving mid-day. Afternoon at leisure to do
last minute shopping or relax and reflect on the memorable experience
you have encountered on your one-week's safari in the most popular parks
of Kenya. Evening transfer to the airport for your outbound flight.
